Since 1964, every vine at Domaine de Pratavone has been cultivated with care and respect, at the heart of the Ajaccio AOP. The vineyard, its soils, and the estate as a whole are tended with great attention, considering the land, the living world, and time, to preserve the balance of the vineyard for today and for generations to come.

In the heart of the Taravo Valley in southern Corsica, Domaine de Pratavone spans around fifty hectares, between sea and mountains. Its granitic soils and Mediterranean climate provide ideal conditions to express our native grape varieties. The vines thrive naturally here, and our work follows this rhythm, with care and quiet attention. This setting accompanies the estate each day and is subtly reflected in the wines.

At the origin was a deep desire to rebuild. Jean Courrèges laid the first foundations with limited means, guided by a profound knowledge of the vine and unwavering determination. The estate grew in this spirit, without haste, step by step. Thirty years later, his daughter Isabelle, a trained oenologist, modernized the facilities, expanded the vineyard, and refined the winemaking. Without ever losing what defines the soul of the estate: Corsican grape varieties, respect for the land, and humility in the face of wine.

At Domaine de Pratavone, sustainable viticulture guides our work in the vineyard each day. Certified High Environmental Value (HVE), we follow practices designed to preserve the soils and the living ecosystem. Every other row is left grassed, alternating each year, to protect the soils, reduce their strain, and support biodiversity. It is an essential choice, allowing us to work in harmony with the vineyard’s natural balance and to sustain it over time.

The work begins in the vineyard. Each plot is carefully tended throughout the year. Yields are kept under control, notably through green harvesting, to focus the vine’s energy on the finest grapes. Depending on the plots and the desired expression, harvesting is carried out by hand or mechanically, always at the optimal moment. In the cellar, the same care and precision guide every step.
